La Vie en Rose boutique opened in Wyandotte in October of 2017 with owner and founder Megan Boardman at the helm. She opened the store for many reasons, not the least of which was to enrich the town she loves so much. “I feel like Wyandotte fits the vibe that I’m trying to create in the store,” says Megan. “Small. Quaint. Vintage. Small-town goodness.”

Megan was also ready to be her own boss so she could empower women to take care of themselves. The trifecta has worked.

“I used to sell LuLaRoe but wanted to do more,” says Megan. “I wanted to offer more and make my own rules! I wanted to create a happy place for women of all shapes, sizes, and ages to come and feel welcome and beautiful.”

She’s found success in doing just that. La Vie en Rose offers feminine yet practical clothing in a multitude of sizes at affordable prices – something few boutiques can claim. A big part of the store’s success has been Megan’s dedication to finding the right clothing that women will love and be able to afford, regardless of the work it takes to get there.

“I didn’t realize how many brands are out there,” explains Megan. “But I love bringing new and exciting things into the boutique and surprising our customers! We are just getting started.”

Quality is another factor at the forefront of the store’s mission. “We’ve been really blessed to find some really great, quality brands that our customers are loving,” says Megan. “Quality is always important. It brings repeat customers back in for more – because they know what they are buying will last.”

Just like any other business owner, she faced some challenges while opening her store, but she didn’t let that stop her. Her advice to anyone in her position now?

“NEVER give up. No matter what anyone tells you or says. Follow your dream, even if you’re the only one who believes it!”

Some might find that focusing on quality goods that women will love while prioritizing affordability and every body type to be nearly impossible, but for Megan, it’s the only way to do business.

“I just try to stay true to myself and create a happy, positive shopping experience for everyone who walks through the door. At the end of they day, I can go home knowing I tried my best to make every customer feel happy and satisfied. The boutique really has been such a blessing in my life. Can’t wait to see what the future holds for this place!”
